「高山ウッドワークス」は1995年、飛騨高山の木工メーカーの職人との岩倉榮利の運命的な出会いにより生まれたコラボレーションブランドです。名人技を持つ定年を迎えた多くの職人達と、美術学校で学んだ木工に興味のある若者達による工房で主に製作され、この両者の良好な師弟関係が雇用と技術継承の問題をクリアし、日本的な美しいフォルムと繊細なディテールを保ちながらも高品質なハンドメイドの家具として高いコストパフォーマンスを生み出し、事業的な構図を可能にしています。

TAKAYAMA WOOD WORKS is a collaborative brand founded in 1995, when Eiri Iwakura significantly met a group of craftsmen at a wood fabricator in Hida Takayama. These highly skilled craftsmen, most of them in the retiring age, collaborated with young designers as being their apprentices, and have successfully built a business model that enables inheritance of techniques and also providing employment opportunities. This has made possible a production of high quality hand crafted furniture with delicately detailed Japanese aesthetic and high cost performance.
